‘Drunk At 1:00’ by Ahmed Nader Gretly

1:00 a.m.

Saturday, 18th

I was slouched on a chair

next to the thick mattress

which I called my bed

smoking an old cigarette

its tobacco had gone stale

found half a bottle of J&B

scotch whisky in my hand

and took a few too many sips

while gazing at the beauty

laying on the mattress

her hair in disarray

her simple face all pink

her eyes cat-like and sneaky

with her cupcake-breaks firm

and her cherry nipples erect

she took the bottle from me

and drowned herself in booze

the green bottle with the red letters

matched her eyes and lips so well

I couldn’t remember her name

I couldn’t remember where we met

but it did not matter that much

we were both blindly drunk

with no hint of shame or self-

respect visible upon our souls

so we fucked each other as if

a tornado was on its way

we fucked each other as if

a volcano was about to erupt

we fucked and fucked and fucked

and fucked and fucked and fucked

until we couldn’t take it anymore

1:30 a.m.

Saturday, 18th

I realized that I was home alone

no girl in sight

not a trace
