‘We’re All A Bit Freaky’ by Ahmed Nader Gretly

Children of the universe, do you care about what other people think of you? Of course you do… yes, we all do. Don’t you dare lie to me now, that’s just human nature. Should we care about what other people think of us? To a certain extent. I’m not saying that you should worry yourself sick about how people criticize you and how they keep demotivating you; you should ignore those kinds of people, the ones that make you feel like you’re not good enough, and probably the ones that are the main reason for all your insecurities… yes, it’s okay, we can talk about that, you can trust me. I know you have some insecurities; we all do, I also know that sometimes you get the feeling as if you’re unwanted, I know all that. But you must get past this, you must carry on doing what you do best, and if you have no idea what the fuck are you supposed to do in this world, fine! Who does?! Life didn’t come with a freaking users’ manual, all these people you see out there, “Living the life” or “Making it happen” they are as fragile as you, but believe it or not, you’re better than them, why? Because you have the guts to accept how fragile you really are; we are weak beings, so weak that if the earth shook itself like a dog, we’ll all fly off it like damn fleas. Sorry, I tend to get carried away; I was talking about how you should –to a certain extent care about what people think of you. I should explain that point, my idea is that not all people are bad, not all people are evil, not all people want to hurt you. Someone somewhere cares about you, even if you cannot see them now, they’re there to help you. Those are the people you should listen too. Friend, life is too short to dwell and yearn on people who just do not care… you know what… fuck them! If they think you’re a freak, make them spend some time on the internet and they’ll see some freaky shit, man. If you tell them that you want to be an artist, a writer, or even a rodeo clown, and they yell “Impossible!” or “That’s illogical!” with their noses in the air, just tell them this: We are living on a spherical rock floating in the middle of space, the main thing we survive on and can’t live without (air) is actually an invisible gas and at some point in time, we were all just sperms and eggs living in other people’s genitalia. Do you think it’s impossible now?

There’s always going to be someone who wants to put you down, but there are also people out there who can accept you, you for who you are, with all your flaws and freakiness. Come on, man; we’re all a bit freaky… some of us are freakier than others. I want you to embrace your freakiness. Always remember, you are a child of the universe, you’re beautiful no matter what people say.
